Bernard
W. Norton (1862 - 1940) founded a small
custom tool shop in 1901, three years
after moving west from Connecticut.
Within a few years, the Norton tool
and die shop began making specialty
automotive parts in order to provide
a wider variety of products. The company
grew to become a staple in California
for the stamping and forming of steel
products, expanding further to provide
license plates and steel containers,
in addition to its original product
lines. |
