Expansion to Southern California
In order to better serve Southern California and the southwestern United States, the Nortons opened a sales office and a warehouse in the greater Los Angeles area in 1961. This warehouse provided faster, more efficient service to its growing customer base. In 1986, the Los Angeles Plant began to assist with the production of plastic pails, increasing the Company’s total production capacity by almost forty percent.
The Move Toward Plastic
The third generation of Norton family members expanded the business in 1974 by purchasing an injection mold machine for the production of plastic pails to compliment their steel container line. Today Norton Packaging, Inc. produces plastic containers at three sites serving customers from the East Coast of the United States to South East Asia.
